Kara Dowdall, MS

Kara Dowdall, MS, is a certified integrative health and wellness coach as well as a functional medicine educator and practitioner. She has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including healthcare management, operations, and technology, and is currently a Director in the Healthcare Technology team at Cognizant.

Following her MS in Health Services, Kara went on to study behavioral health and coaching methods at Duke University, one of the world’s top integrative medicine programs. She next studied functional medicine and was then among the first to become a national board certified health and wellness coach through the International Consortium for Health and Wellness Coaching.

Having recovered herself from three autoimmune illnesses, Kara is empathetic and understanding of health challenges. She is a passionate advocate for functional medicine, acknowledging the impact of the environment on our genetics and biochemistry as the foundations for healthcare transformation.
