Dawn B. Beaulieu, MD, IFMCP, FACG, AGAF, is professor of medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). She is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, with an expertise in the field of inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis) and is certified in functional medicine through The Institute for Functional Medicine. She has been caring for patients at Vanderbilt since 2009.  

Dr. Beaulieu is the founding director of the IBD Fellowship Rotation for adult gastroenterology fellows and founding director for the advanced IBD Fellowship at Vanderbilt. Prior to attending medical school, she worked in basic scientific research for six years and then one year as a clinical trials coordinator. As faculty at VUMC, she has been involved in numerous clinical trials through the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center and involved as primary investigator or sub-investigator for multiple pharmaceutical trials and investigator-initiated studies.  

In 2019 Dr. Beaulieu helped create The Vanderbilt Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinic, which uses a variety of treatments – including functional medicine – to provide personalized care and management of IBD.
