IFMCP 2016 Graduates

Federal Way, WA—The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), the global leader in Functional Medicine, is pleased to announce the graduation of 150 IFM Certified Practitioners (IFMCP) in 2016. IFMCP graduates are uniquely trained in the Functional Medicine model to identify and treat the root causes of chronic disease. Functional Medicine not only incorporates the latest research in science and systems biology, but it also enables healthcare practitioners to practice proactive, predictive, personalized medicine while empowering patients to take an active role in their own health.
In order to achieve the designation of IFM Certified Practitioner, candidates must complete seven training seminars and pass stringent written and case study evaluations.
“On our website in 2015, we received more than 2000 searches daily from people requesting information on where to find well-trained Functional Medicine practitioners,” according to Robert Luby, IFM’s executive director of Medical Education. “With this, our fourth graduating class, we now have nearly 500 practitioners that we are confident will be able to meet this increased demand.”
One newly certified practitioner put it this way: “This is a dream come true and an honor! Thank you IFM for changing the way we do medicine!”
And another expressed her enthusiasm like this: “What an honour and what an absolute pleasure it has been coming to the U.S. and training with this Institute. I am originally from Harare, Zimbabwe, so Zimbabwe has its first certified IFM practitioner!”
IFM Certified Practitioners can be found listed in the Find A Practitioner database on the IFM website. All IFMCP graduates will be honored at IFM’s 2016 Annual International Conference to be held May 12-14 in San Diego, CA.
