Join us in the Wellness Lounge for early morning and lunchtime movement classes!

On Thursday from 12:30-1:15 pm PDT, we will offer a Bodyweight Bootcamp class. This dynamic fitness session will get your heart and blood pumping! Participants will use their own weight to provide resistance for each exercise. We will incorporate body weight, plyometric, and core-focused movements to get you moving functionally! The class is accessible and fun for every body—even first-time students.

Friday from 6:00-6:45 am PDT, we will offer a neuromuscular integrative action (NIA) class. NIA is a fun, low-impact cardio dance fitness workout that combines a variety of dance styles, martial arts, yoga, and more. NIA is adaptable for every body and fitness level.

Enjoy a chair yoga/grounding meditation class from 1:00-1:45 pm PDT on Friday. Grab your chair and let’s stretch! This session will include gentle breathing and stretching exercises to combat the effects of sitting. No yoga mats, sweat, floorwork, or change of clothes needed. When you’re stuck in your head, it can be hard to focus, listen, and absorb new information. This grounding meditation will bring you back to your body, starting with a body scan and finishing with a technique you can use to ground at any time during the conference.

On Saturday, there will be a mat yoga for energy and focus class offered from 6:00-6:45 am PDT. This well-choreographed sequence will get you moving while focusing on chest opening postures to increase oxygen flow. It will be interspersed with balance postures for grounding and focus.

Join us on Saturday from 12:15-12:45 pm PDT for a tai chi & qigong class. The fundamental purpose of tai chi is to heighten an individual’s awareness of their supreme potential to live more fully in the moment with greater patience, poise, and physical prowess. Qigong means “vital energy training.” It is the quintessential mind-body exercise that is used within Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Visit the Wellness Lounge to participate in IFM’s 2021 AIC Service Project. Spread joy to seniors in assisted living facilities and care homes. IFM has partnered with the organization Letters Against Isolation to send handwritten letters to seniors in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, and Israel who may be feeling lonely and isolated during the pandemic. The ask is simple: write a letter expressing hope, gratitude, and inspiration, and send to IFM by June 15. We will work with Letters Against Isolation to distribute these notes and help brighten the day of seniors across the world.

Check out the latest literary offerings from thought leaders in the functional medicine community. This definitive bibliography highlights books authored by members of IFM’s board of directors, IFM educators, and this year’s slate of AIC presenters. Access the bookstore here.

Industry experts will present their research through electronic poster displays. During the event, view the poster sessions within the Connection Café to learn about topics such as co-infection in Lyme disease and the effects of insulin resistance on cognition. Browse the poster sessions here.

Plan your Braindates! These one-on-one or small group video meetings are a peer learning experience designed to facilitate intentional, informal conversations with others at AIC. Braindates are like in-person conversations over coffee: a space to share information and best practices, get feedback on what products other practitioners use, learn directly from your peers, and share insights about distilling those learnings into your practice.

Before the conference starts:

  1. Create a Braindate profile and view currently scheduled topics.
  2. Join Braindate topics you find interesting.
  3. Create your own topics so that others can join you for a Braindate.

During the conference, meet up virtually on the Braindate Platform at your scheduled date and time.

Log in to Braindate now or watch the Virtual Braindate Platform video to take a peek into what the Braindate experience looks like!
