The Institute for Functional Medicine Names Amy R. Mack as Chief Operations Officer

Federal Way, WA—The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) welcomes Amy R. Mack as its new chief operations officer (COO). In this role, Mack will work closely with Chief Executive Officer Laurie Hofmann, MPH, on the organization’s overall strategy and execution.

Mack graduated with a BS in biology from Indiana University and an MSES/MPA from the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Before joining IFM as the COO, Mack was the executive director of Year Up Puget Sound in Seattle, WA. Previously she was the chief executive officer for two Big Brothers Big Sisters affiliates and the chief of staff for the Corporation for National and Community Service, an independent federal agency in Washington, DC. Mack started her career in city government in Indianapolis, IN, working with former Mayor Stephen Goldsmith.

Mack is the immediate past chair of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (Indiana University) Distinguished Alumni Council and was the 2016 Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs Distinguished Alumni Award recipient. She previously held board leadership positions on the Youth Development Executives of King County Advisory Board and the Eastside Pathways Board and Partner Leadership Committee.

I am confident that Amy will make significant contributions to IFM’s strategic plan execution, organizational development, and expanded operations—all of which are needed to support this rapidly growing global Functional Medicine movement.
