Jennifer Allen Newton has 20 years of experience in media and public relations with a focus on technology, health, environment, and quality-of-life. Since founding Bluehouse Consulting Group, Inc. in March 2000, Jennifer has provided strategic public relations counsel, industry analyst relations, and training and writing services for a variety of agencies, companies and nonprofit organizations.

Prior to starting her own business, Jennifer worked for eight years at Waggener Edstrom Worldwide, one of the nation’s top-ranked public relations and communications agencies. During that time, Jennifer developed and facilitated PR and media training programs and managed strategic planning and execution of PR programs for Microsoft Corporation and German-based software company SAP AG /SAP Americas.

Jennifer’s specialty is bringing complex subjects to a broader audience. She has worked with clients and media in a variety of specialized industries, including health care, nutrition, high tech/clean tech, renewable energy, security, manufacturing and design.

Jennifer’s writing, PR, and fundraising work with nonprofit organizations includes: The Institute for Functional Medicine (for which she now serves as a board member), the Pongo Fund, Cascadia Commons, the Nature Conservancy of Oregon, the Seattle Audubon Society, the Polishing Stone, the Girls Initiative Network of Multnomah County, the Sierra Club, and the Bear Creek Greenway Foundation in Southern Oregon (for which she formerly served as a board member).

Prior to working in PR, Jennifer spent three years as a public affairs and documentary television producer for Oregon Public Broadcasting and worked for two years in the commercial film and television industry.

Jennifer has a bachelor’s degree from the School of Communication at Northwestern University and has done graduate work in adult education and development. She speaks French and enjoys traveling, hiking, writing, photography, and making music. Jennifer lives in Oregon with her husband, Jamie, and their dogs, Baxter and Kirby.
