Stephen Loyd, MD

 

Stephen Loyd, MD, received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and his doctorate at the Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the Quillen College of Medicine. He has served as the internal medicine residency program director as well as the chief of staff for education at the Mountain Home VA Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Additionally, he was the chief of medicine at the Mountain Home VA. Most recently, he was the medical director and assistant commissioner for Substance Abuse Services with the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. Currently, Dr. Loyd is the medical director at JourneyPure at the River in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He has been in long-term recovery from opioids and benzodiazepines since July 9, 2004.
