IFM Invited to Chair Session at the 2022 International Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Virtual Workshop for Integrative Medicine & COVID-19 Care
Advancing the transformation of healthcare for patients and practitioners worldwide

IFM has been developing content on the functional medicine approach to COVID-19 since the pandemic began, along the way producing web articles, journal publications, educational courses, and a series of video updates. In a major validation of this work, IFM Chief of Medical Affairs and COVID-19 Task Force member Joel Evans, MD, was invited to speak and chair a session at the International Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Virtual Workshop for Integrative Medicine & COVID-19 Care in September 2022. Along with Dr. Michelle Beidelschies of the Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine, his presentation focused on functional medicine approaches to both acute and long COVID-19, including the use of shared medical visits.

Organized by Libin Jia, MD, a Health Scientist Administrator at the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health, the conference had representation from all major Asian economies and included presentations on many different approaches to COVID-19, including traditional Asian medicine philosophies from several countries.
