For Immediate Release
Federal Way, WA—The Institute for Functional Medicine is excited to begin offering resident and medical student tuition that allows eligible students to register for IFM educational conferences at a 50% reduced rate. Resident and medical student tuition is available for IFM’s five-day foundational conference, Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice (AFMCP), the six Advanced Practice Modules (APMs), and the Advanced Clinical Trainings (ACTs).
In order to qualify for student tuition, applicants must be a full time resident or student in an accredited medical program (MD, DC, DO, ND, NP, or PA), or a student currently enrolled in one of IFM’s Collaboration programs. After application and approval, students will be eligible to register for the IFM conferences at the student rate for the calendar year.
“Residents and students are the future practitioners of health care. At IFM, we are delighted to offer greatly reduced student tuition rates, thereby making Functional Medicine education and training more accessible and applicable earlier in the professional lives of healthcare professionals,” remarks IFM’s Chief Executive Officer Laurie Hofmann, MPH.
Robert Luby, MD, IFM’s executive director of medical education, shares, “Access to Functional Medicine training will assist residents and students in launching and differentiating their medical practice. IFM’s student tuition rates recognize the importance of these medical professionals and the global need for healthcare professionals trained in detecting and treating the underlying causes of chronic disease.”
Applications are now being accepted for the 2017 calendar year. To learn more about resident and medical student tuition or to apply, please click here.
About The Institute for Functional Medicine
The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) is the global leader in Functional Medicine. The mission of IFM is to serve the highest expression of individual health through the widespread adoption of Functional Medicine as the standard of care.
Functional Medicine is a personalized, systems-oriented model that empowers patients and practitioners to achieve the highest expression of health by working in collaboration to address the underlying causes of disease. The primary drivers of the chronic disease epidemic are the daily interactions among an individual’s genetics, environment, and lifestyle choices. Functional Medicine addresses these underlying causes of disease and equips healthcare practitioners to help their patients manage this complex, interconnected web.
“Unlike conventional RCTs that require limitations of clinical care, practice-based research networks featuring patient-reported outcomes (PROs) can blend seamlessly into clinical practice. LivingMatrix is setting the stage for a practice-based research network with the potential to produce outcomes data that will provide rigorous evidence of the effectiveness of the Functional Medicine model.” – Chris D’Adamo, PhD, Director of Research, Center for Integrative Medicine, University of Maryland School of MedicineRead More
