From the practitioner: About My Practice

I have worked as a doctor in the NHS since I graduated from medical school in 1998. I spent most of my career working as a Consultant in Paediatric Anaesthesia. In 2021, after my own diagnosis of breast cancer I retrained in Functional Medicine with a focus on Integrative Oncology. Our Breast Cancer Prevention Program takes a detailed look at your personal risk factors for breast cancer using a combination of functional testing (epigenetic/blood work/hormone balance) and detailed history (lifestyle, nutrition and toxic exposures etc.) Our treatment plans are highly personalised and emphasise the importance of nutrition, movement, sleep, stress reduction, including specific nutraceuticals or medications that optimise wellness.

From the practitioner: What Patients Can Expect

Cancer doesn't happen overnight, it is a complex interplay between genetics, environment and lifestyle. Patients can expect a thorough assessment of their medical history, family history, sleep, stress, exercise, nutrition and toxic exposures. We look at genetics, hormone balance, blood markers and gut health to determine potential areas of vulnerability and take measures to address these. Each patient is unique and our management plans are tailored to reflect this. As part of this program patients also work closely with an oncology trained nutritional therapist to help embed the fundamentals of the nutrition plan.
