Information for Patients

Description of My Practice

I take care of chronically ill people that traditional medical care has failed. One aspect of the practice is functional medicine with an emphasis on chronic fatigue, mold illness, autoimmune disease, and cognitive decline. Another aspect is physical medicine using osteopathy, the McGill Method for Low Back Disorders, and personal training.

From the practitioner: About My Practice

April Vukelic, D.O., IMFCP, ReCODE 2.0 Certified Physician, is quadruple board certified by The Institute for Functional Medicine, American Board of Family Medicine, American Board of Preventive Medicine, and The American Board of Addiction Medicine.

Dr. Vukelic aims to blend her knowledge of functional medicine, environmental medicine, preventive medicine, osteopathy, and diet in a comprehensive approach to address the root cause for the whole person.

She contributed to Nutrition and Integrative Medicine for Clinicians, 1st Edition. She was honored to author one of the chapters: Mechanisms of Potential Central Nervous System Injury in Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome. Additionally, she contributed to seven other chapters.

From the practitioner: What Patients Can Expect

Have you been diagnosed with small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), “brain fog,” fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, daily migraines, irritable bowel syndrome, adrenal fatigue, mast cell activation syndrome or multiple chemical sensitivity? What if multiple diagnoses have one root cause that no one has evaluated?

Doctors can’t diagnose an illness if they don’t know it exists.

Are you tired after a full night’s “rest”?

If you exert yourself, do you have fatigue for 2-3 days afterward?

Are you sensitive to everything and avoid perfume and detergent smell in the grocery store?

Are you exposed to a damp basement or leaks or flooding at work?

Environment may be the answer.
