From the practitioner: About My Practice
I have been in practice for more than 20 years and began practicing Functional Medicine in 2013. Through my integrative methods, I work with patients to dive deeper than treating the symptoms, and instead seek to uncover the root cause of medical conditions. While I treat patients with all kinds of health needs, I specialize in gastrointestinal dysfunction, inflammation, and hormonal imbalance.
In 2018, I founded Move•ment Chiropractic & Integrative Wellness with the mission of creating a movement to restore the health of my community. In addition to Functional Medicine, my team offers Chiropractic treatment, acupuncture, pregnancy care, massage therapy, rehabilitation, and mental health counseling.
From the practitioner: What Patients Can Expect
To get started with Functional Medicine, you can call Move•ment and a New Patient Coordinator will walk you through the FM process. Once you have scheduled your first visit, our Nutrition Assistant will email the intake paperwork for you to complete and return along with lab results or physician's notes from the previous 12 months. At your first visit, a thorough history and evaluation will be performed, including InBody Bioimpedence testing and urinalysis. Since each patient is unique, additional testing is usually recommended at that time. Once all labs have been completed, Dr. Heather creates an individualized treatment protocol to be reviewed at your second visit. Routine follow-up visits are then set to monitor your progress.
