Information for Patients

From the practitioner: About My Practice

The team at the Holistic Healing Center considers the whole person and seeks to uncover root causes of health issues in order to optimize health and well-being. Kirsten Hamilton, RDN coordinates with IFM Certified Practitioner Deborah Bernstein MD to provide a patient-centered approach that is Integrative and Functional. Our approach takes into account aspects of diet and nutrition, movement and physical activity, stress management, promoting self-empowering beliefs and behaviors, addressing vitamin, mineral and neuro-endocrine imbalances, and spirituality. Kirsten listens to your concerns, needs, and preferences to customize your dietary recommendations taking into account emotional and behavioral factors.

From the practitioner: What Patients Can Expect

Generally, the first visit lasts between 1.5-2 hours. During the initial visit, the majority of the time is focused on gathering a thorough history and discussing the patient’s reason and goals for seeking treatment. In the later part of the visit if time allows, the treatment approach is discussed and various options for dietary intake, further testing, and lifestyle modification are reviewed. Follow-up visits usually last between 45-60 minutes and are spent reviewing health concerns, reviewing test results, and fine-tuning treatment plans and lifestyle modifications. Clients may expect coaching with health goals, help with meal planning and recipes, and ways to apply nutrition & lifestyle recommendations to their daily lives.
